Had a local sponsorship from a shop once... Didn't have to do anything, they had just opened and I became good friends with the owner through the sponsorship. I just ran his decal on my car for a bit. I got cost + tax for parts. He also gave me a set of rims that I run now. The shop has since closed down though, I still get a decent amount of supplies/parts through him since he still has contacts.

I don't care much for a sponsor anymore, now-a-days if you look hard enough you can find the right prices for things. Plus I'm not a big fan of stickers/decals anymore. I just rock a local team sticker and Evom.net that's it.

Quite frankly, the RA is just not a popular enough car. I'm lucky if I see one a month, and usually some soccer mom is driving it (which btw I don't understand). That's just not enough people to influence.

^ I'll have to agree with you 100% with the moms driving around in them. lol.

I don't understand it.

If this car was 200hp atc stock, dohc with a more aggressive mivec cam, this should raise some interest.

Thankfully the new RA is raising the bar.

i tried to get sponsored when i had my old focus, the only shop that considered it said i had to put at least 10k into my car before they would even consider discounting parts . i told the guy if i had 10k to spend on my car id be finished with it and i wouldnt need a sponsor slapping stupid decals all over my car .

You're not going to get sponsored if you're looking for handouts, that's not why shops sponsor cars. Your car needs to already be built and winning shows and/or races before someplace will consider spending any of their advertising dollars on you.

Exactly^

You have to bring something to the table, whether it be your immense driving talent or your car that is already getting serious attention.

well i obv wana wait until my ralliart is fully built, but by then to show off the full potential of a 2.4 sohc mivec would be alot more advertising then sum everyday soccer mom car. i think its possible to get sum real money, get in a couple magazines n show off the potential as i said. plus i dont wana b cocky, but i no how to drive n every1 i no will back me up on that.
