So its been a while since I worked on the RA... Been modding the motorcycle, sold my rockcrawler, and now im bored and wanna mess with the RA again...

So far, it has Tien springs, 215/50/16 Kumho Ecsta 712's on stock wheels, SRI, and underdrive pulley...

Looking at doing some of the following, somewhat of a budget though...

RRM Cam
Cat-Back (just afraid of ricey raspy sound most RA's ive seen have with aftermarket, kinda enjoy the stock tone)
RRM Rear Sway Bar
Maybe Header and DP, but want to weld in a street legal cat...
ECU Piggy...

Thinking I wanna keep in under 1000-1200, I can do all the work myself...



Also debating a few cosmetics... Already have mesh grills, removed badges (except RA badge on the trunk), Satin black front emblem (silver car), and legal window tint all around...

Maybe Black tails, HID's and Aftermarket wheels

Don't include this in my $$ total above...

Whats your favorite mod, does the piggy do much for ya? Thoughts? Not going turbo, not worth it on this car...

 

um... for the money, the RRM swaybar and perches. Definitely worth every penny. I turn so much smoother and tighter now. As for the raspy-ness i had the RRM CBE before i went downpipe/catless and it wasn't that bad.

 

O also if you get the cam, and other engine mods you'll want to get the piggy to tune it otherwise you won't be getting the best out of your mods.

 

id get the CBE... then header/dp/cat

 

full exhaust, then the piggy..

 

depending what you want

I want to Run on straight so I only invest on mods that gives me whp!

If you want that well you need
-Header (rrm its 4-1 you dont need a DP)
-exhaust (2.5")
-ECU (rrm piggy or SMT-6) or what ever you want

THEN I try things like Cams or heads or other things, but not before having H/E/Ecu!

If you want Suspencion Mods, dont ask me...

 

I know this is cutting your budget pretty close but...

I would go Ported & Polished Intake Manifold, Exhaust, ECU Piggy.

 

SMT-6 will not work for timing. RRM NA piggy will not control timing on any vehicle. just an fyi.

If you have other vehicles to drive then you can do lot's more with your 1200

 

Well, I have another car that I DD... And a Motorcycle... I don't think I have actually driven the RA in 2-3 months farther than 4-5 miles honestly...

I like a good all around car... The RA will never be the fastest car at the drag strip, nor the best handling car on the track... Something all around is more fun to me...

Oh yeah, does anyone actually have the RRM cam yet, N/A? I just feel like thats a mod I wanna go with... I can always do exhaust down the road, still scared of sounding like every pile of crap Honda out there (im a honda technician, so I can say that )

 

It's too bad RRM quit making their Axleback because from what I hear it DOES NOT sound like a honda ...

 

the axleback definately does not sound like a honda, I love mine

 

RRMs CBE doesnt sound like a honda, its the header/dp that sounds raspy but only w/o a CAT.

 

you can just buy the magnaflow muffler #14289 (i believe that's the one) and have it welded in

So theres not a Piggy that can control fuel and TIMING on a RA??
