alright i bet this has been asked before but will any other year lancer or evo trunk lid fit a 04 ralliart? i don't like the recessed license plate box and wanna have a solid non carbon fiber, fiberglass trunk lid. thanx

 

02 03 lancer is interchangeable with the evo trunk lids

if you dont like the plate position i believe it was cerious performance that made a filled trunk. than you would have to buy the bumper from accolade..(not too sure though)

 

You can use the 02,03 trunk lid, but you have to use an 02,03 rear bumper. The 02 and 03 trunk is the same on the es,ls,oz and evo. You can use that carbon fiber one.

wait a minute we (Lancer owners 04-06) can use the 02-03 Carbon Trunk are u sure???? cause the 02-03 rear tails dont fit on the 04-06 Lancer can someone confirm this please

 

No the tail lights are slightly different. So here is the right response:

The 04-06 Trunks are interchangable on ES/RA/OZ/whatever other base model Lancers and NON-EVO's made. The 02-03 Lancer trunks DO NOT fit our cars without replacing the rear bumper which is more boxy but I don't think anyone has done this yet, sooo it might just be easier to get the cerious performance one incase the theory is wrong.

04-06 Lancer trunks with the filled center can be purchased through cerious performance. Keep in mind if you get this piece filled you'll have to find a location for your liscense plate.

 

^^^^ ok cause i could of sworn that Juan Martinez was saying that the 02-03 trunk would work i was thinking that this was wrong too cause the 02-03 is boxier then the 04-06 thank you for clarifying

 

Well i'm not 100% sure on this, but looking at the body, and when i lined up against my buddy's 03, the rear bumper seems to mount up in the same places, but i'm sure the trunk and the bumper need to be combo'd together. I mean if anyone wants to try it out.... hint hint...

 

^^^ the only way to find this out is for someone to try it but i still dont think that it will line up cause the tails are different

 

Hello again. Somewhere I have a pic of an 02 or 03 that has the 04 and up rear bumper and trunk lid. Its the reversed of what your looking for but shows that it can be easily done. The trunk is different. The 04 is taller I think. the 02 and 03 taillights are slightly taller than the 04 and 05. you can see on the body lines of how the tailights line with the bottom of the rear bumper unlike on the of the 04 which is more like the evo. you may be able to take a rear bumper from an evo and take the 03 and 02 lancer trunk lid, which is the same between the evo and base lancers and come up with something that looks curvey without the plate on the trunk. If I can find that pic I'll post it of someone to modified the rear bumper and used it on his es. To make things short, you can get that one one from cerious or you can get oem 02 and 03 trunk lid, tailights, and bumper. thats the only things on the rear that are different.

 

see it would probably just be cheaper to go with the cerious performance trunk lid and not have to worry about the whole changing ur bumper tails blah blah blah

 

Hey edbighead if your going for a flush trunk are you going to get a Euro style rear that has the plate positioned on it? If not where are you going to put the tag?
