i am like 99% sure its illegal to change an odometer reading, even if u yours stopped working and u want to remove mileage off of one thats got too many. The only place u might find to change your odometer would be a chop shop.

If I am not mistaken this has been covered recently. I believe the outcome was the dealership can do it for you, but I am not sure. A quick search on gauge cluster or odometer will likely show you that thread.

Dealership can do it but it'll cost a lot and you'll be without a car for a while (they need both clusters). Alternatively you can just wait till the stock cluster hits 43000 miles (~69000 km).

There's a jtag on the cluster, but besides the dealer I don't know anyone who's figured it out.

it is not illegal as far as I know of.. You just have to sign a mileage discolsure statement when you sell it....

We used to swap in new clusters fairly often at the dealership I worked at. We would just put them in at 0 miles... Nothing illegit about it, just up to the selling party to disclose an odometer disrepancy...

No the dealer can't change the millage with their equipement. They will ship the cluster to a special shop.

No, we never changed the reading... Actually we did not know of anyone to send it to either, we just filled out discrepancy statements... All clusters we installed read "0" miles...
