Is there anyway to change it from the factory yellow to another color?

^^^Could you tell how hard the install was? Was it pretty much remove and put in new one?

 

Well, You have to put some "light diffusers" on the light bulbs inside the sport meter. So to get access, you have to unmount the "sport meter kit" to reach the back of the gauges ( where the lights bulbs are )

It seems complicated, but in fact it's a matter of minutes.
