question bout lowering engine

question bout lowering engine

is it possible to lower the engine mounts 1-2 inches ? will it still have enuogh frame to re-weld the mounts on to or notch the frame? im tring to cantalever the front suspension and rear but worried bout clearance of the engine?

I think you'll have some problems with the oil pan and tranny.. There would be too much hassle to drop the engine, everything needs to be shifted accordingly.

im tring to cantalever my front suspension to fit my air ride and i am getting a low profile oil pan made to fit and the tranny has 3 inchs before it hits

I can't see a viable way to do it. For the front mount, you'd need to make a completely new crossmember. The rear mount is attached to the k-bar and there's no way to move that (and no clearance to). The two side mounts would be a pain, as well, I'd imagine.

well im willing to make a new crossmember for the front because the canta lever will hit the engine onwhen i inflate my bags and i dont want to do that casueing the cantalever bar to shift the rear is easy im not worried about it but the front susp was my only worry

You also have to take into consideration that the operating angles of your axles will change. which would mean you would have to modify you hub assembly to maintain rebound angle and drop angles. No more then 3degrees if i remember right.
