The parts are out there, and there is still work being done on these vehicles - in australia we have nearly finished our throttle body upgrades. There are plenty of stuff out there for these vehicles, its more of a case they have been pretty much all sorted out with a good range of aftermarket parts.

Probably only main issue is there are only around 2 - 3 firms world wide who actually make parts for these vehicles which does mean the pricing is higher, but as always its demand v production costs.

We are finding in Australia the demand for this car is just starting to peak now, with most people buying them, liking them and now wanting to modify them. That means for us, hopefully in the next few years our costs can drop a bit as we increase our production of parts.

Biggest issue we find these days is the de valuing USA Dollars, which has made exporting to the USA harder.

Is it dead in the USA? I can't say but in Australia and Asian countries its starting to boom which is great for us in Australia.

many many things, they are very secretive about most of it. I have had PM and IM conversations with a few guys from PR and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff they are doing or have done if I told you to give you specifics, do you know of anywhere but PR where the ECU has been flashed to defeat the rev limit? or where the first RA turbo kit was (of course that doesn't matter now) custom headers, for turbo and NA... egr delete... if you think it will make power it's been done in PR

also, there is a big cost difference in buying say a camshaft from RRM and finding a cam shop to make one for you. I spent days of my time calling as many cam shops as I could find on the internet until I found one who knew what a 4g69 was and actually had a profile for the car. There were a few shops that said the could develop one, but it would be at my expense (~500) The shop that I ended up using to regrind my cam charged me 100. you can buy the entire RRM exhaust for over 1000 (header to tailpipe) or you can have a good custom shop fab one (header to tailpipe) for 50-75% of that cost. finding these places is work, you either do the cold calling or you pick up the phone and dial RRM or RPW your money, your choice. underdrive pulley=RRM, catback exhaust=meineke

well then i guess the ppl who break them and throw them away mean more parts for us! if somthing should go wrong, but thats what i like about our cars so much is that there arent many and just about no one knows about it so when u put the effort into making it a street tuner, or show car or what u want the effort put into it was the fun part,

i used ot have a civic, 735whp, big turbo nos and all, but just about everyone and the brother has one here, so me putting my r and d into the ra like we all do makes it a hell of alot more fun then just taking things apart and bolting them on

one man did, for his professional gain as most things like this come about, but he has passed away from my understanding on this matter.

some people play the game for personal pleasure, and beating you is part of that pleasure. some people don't care who has what as long as they are happy with what they have.

PR is not so much intentionally secretive; as I said I have had extensive conversations about the "secret" mods. they are just like everyone else who accomplishes things others haven't done before: for one thing, while you are on here typing they are out figuring stuff out to make their cars faster; for the other thing, who wants to spend all their time on a message board telling everyone what they did and how when they can be out driving the monster

so yeah, some of the guys on here won't tell you what they are working on, and will only give you numbers to show what they have accomplished. that's just how it is sometimes. be patient, I sent an ECU to tactrix last weekend, and I don't care what you do to your car as long as I'm happy with mine.

New vs used plus some of us are in Canada where everything is overpriced...

Example: we get the wrx and sti up here
It would be cheaper to buy a new sti down there and import it than to buy a used wrx up here... it's discusting - makes me cry.

I knew it was overpirced up there with cars but damn that much. I mean IMO a new RA lancer should only run around $15-$18k tops. and used forget it.

Thats kinda out of controll.
