mods that affect warrantee
mods that affect warrantee
Well a while back i remember reading a topic saying that if you have a problem with your car, and have mods that don't affect the problem, your warrantee is still valid. ex. aftermarket exhaust doesnt affect brake system. well at the dealership today i heard a guy talking to a girl about her evo and he told her they wont cover her brake system under warrantee because she has an aftermarket exhaust with no Cat. and i asked him why that is and he said anything aftermarket voids the whole warrantee...i was wondering if anyone remembers that post and can send me the link. i dont want him to try to tell my my system voids the warrantee ill be pissed
i finally brought my RA there to have them fix the MIVEC problem
well i dont have that link but it really all depends where you take it. i had loads of mods on my old focus and the dealer i took it to never had a problem until they were really busy and then desided that they wanted to void my warrenty. if by aftermarket exhaust you mean a muffler then no it wont void your warrenty, really a catback shouldnt either but im not the dealer. they probably told the girl that b/c they know that she runs the hell out of that evo so they dont want to waste their time and money.
in the end if your that worried about it then bring it back to stock.

I have an intake, full exhaust and aftermarket rims. I've had all my control arms, my AC compressor, my Fan controller, and misc interior parts that broke all warrantied... Not to mention I have aftermarket electronics, interior piece that were modified for parts and such. As long as they can't connect the damaged part to a mod that you made to the car its warrantiable.. (word?)...
