O2 sensor gone... CAI?
O2 sensor gone... CAI?
long story short, my O2 sensor just went. it was -40C outside the past few days. I have a CAI from fujita and my seals in my fuel injectors went. They were replaced and now im waiting for my O2 sensor to come in so it can be changed by my dealership. this is all warranty work.
im curiuos as to how much of a role the cold or the cold air intake played a part in the O2 sensor going. anyone else have any experiences with there O2 sensors and winter driving or the cold air intake?

The injector seals from the cold?? Im in FL, so I have no experience with things like that, but I would think the seals should be okay, but I guess I am wrong. The o2 sensor, well those things are a loosing battle. When it's cold you should really put the car to on, and wait before starting it, let the heater coil heat up.
While I don't think it got to -40C here, I know we saw -20s and -30s for almost a week recently. My O2 sensor and injector seals are fine. I have an RRM CAI.
I would be interested to hear the dealership's theory on how the CAI could cause those problems, if they try to deny the warranty coverage.

I think the air has gotten a bit warmer by the time it makes it to the O2 sensor
I'm guessing it was just a fluke of the extreme weather. When it's that cold, things get brittle and can be more inclined to breaking.
