AEM Cold Air Intake

I recently bought an AEM CAI for my OZ, when I went to put it on I discovered that the bolts holding the MAF to the filter box were not standard bolts and I did not have a tool that would allow me to loosen and remove the MAF. If anyone knows how to remove the MAF from the filter box without destroying either one please let me know I am anxious to put my cold air intake on.

Thanks
Redleg

Actually those nuts are 10MM nuts. I used a socket with a 9 inch extention (over kill but all i had) to remove the nuts. The problem is if you twist too hard you may snap the plastic parts holding the other side of the bots in the air box. I did this on a friends car and had to cut the box and use a pair of adjustable wrenches to hold it while i ratcheded the nut off.

If you round out the plastic parts, a set of vise-grips and some liquid wrench works great.

ditto with the 10mm, and you'll probably break at least 2 of the plastic supports in the box. took me a pair of needlenose pliers and 30 minutes of anger and frustration before i got them off. good luck.
