MAYBE: 2nd annual Lancer/Ralliart Meet????
so no one has anything concrete except WW?
I'm still thinking Myrtle Beach. there's the beach, it's a very popular tourist area in the summer. everything you could want is on the strip, unless they have taken down the pavillion (amusement park) cause I remember hearing something along those lines. in any case, anything you can find in a city can be found there, and there's the beach
another one is uwharrie national forest here in North Carolina. miles and miles of dirt trails, 50,000+ acres of woods and lake. we took a little inflatable raft down the uwharrie river one year. it's not exactly white water but we didn't know what was there and my GF and I were in a 3 person raft
I will be going here at least twice this year, bringing go-karts and mini-bikes... basically anything I can get my hands on. I've got an even better raft this year too
and with more people we could make it more than a mile or so of rafting (it's a ***** to walk back and forth when you are placing the raft and parking your car yourself.) to me this is the most laid back thing to do, and it would really force everyone to get to know each other
dirty cars too, it's ALL dirt roads once you enter the park. this is also by far the cheapest option. bring a tent, buy some burgers. camping in most areas is free, but if you want facilities you can get a campsite down a few dirt roads. roughin' it FTW
there are mountains here, but they suck for anything but getting you into trouble. the cops cover the curvy roads pretty well, and the ones they don't frequent are covered in cars (i.e. the tail of the dragon; the only time I have seen a trooper up there is when a car flipped over the embankment into the river and it took them about fifteen minutes to get there
it's jam packed with car clubs and motorcycles though) I don't know much about lodging, but the "end" of the road is in Tennessee, more westerners could attend. over three hundred curves in only 11 miles, we probably shouldn't even consider it because half of you will kill yourselves
well, that's three from me. anyone else care to share interesting things to do in your neck of the woods? btw, there are beaches further north and south than Myrtle but IMO as far as plain tourism it's the central hot spot on the east coast. might just be because I live here though
anything else I can think of as far as beaches and the central east coast are either family oriented or, again IMO, not as "big" during the peak season as myrtle.

and from what i understand... there was something going on about girls and skinny dipping last year? ( still dont know the whole true story)
My opinion...You just need to throw a few places out there and see where the majority sits...like I'm in central Texas...There's not that many people around here considered to out east and west for the RA community...I mean, South Padre would be bad ***...However that's a long *** drive for anyone else..haha
I would bet if we go to the beach and Joe comes (raonlsd) there will be some crazy **** going on. it might be just dudes partying and it might be naked chicks in the pool, but either way you won't be disappointed
camping is gonna be a sausage fest, but it usually is
the mountains... like I said I don't really know about lodging but I think it's pretty quiet up there. WW is a guy thing too, or at least I'm betting 99% of it is.

bump for interest. gaging interest for our meet or my camping trips.
I am starting to plan my two camping trips already. anyone is welcome to attend either at this point. once in May, once in August. I don't have definitive dates yet, will be figuring that out with my co-workers pretty soon. gotta make sure nothing overlaps.
there doesn't seem to be much interest in the get together this year. anyone have any other suggestions?

Not you, too?
I'd be down for a meet anywhere that is Indianapolis or closer. Farther away, and it's more time spent getting there and back than actually at the meet.
I've gone to the DSM shootout in Ohio twice, but don't feel like driving that far for a car meet again. Particularly after last year's rain.

camping:
I'm thinking about memorial day weekend, or possibly the weekend after, for the first trip. probably head out Fri after work and come home Mon or Tues. second trip maybe the middle weekend in Aug.
I'm gonna try and stay away from july 27 to aug 3, there is an off topic gathering in Seattle and I'm trying to convince some of those people to attend
I don't have enough vacation
gotta plan around the weekend. I'm putting in for a half day on May 23 and the whole day May 27, maybe adding one more day on either side of the weekend depending on who is trying to come and who is actually wanting to stay at my place.
I also hope to have my boat in the water by then. It needs quite a bit of work though, it's been out of the water for three or four years now
anyone interested in coming to my camping trip PM me or post up in here real soon. there is plenty of room out there to put a tent, but we gotta have enough supplies for everyone
your car will get dirty too, without fail, so be prepared if you consider yours a show car
here is a link to the camping trip thread I started this morning in Off Topic. It's a little more open than our get together last year, but since no one is trying to post up plans I'm gonna start making my own

G/f's sister's.You should come hang out at Winged Warrior, or, if you feel like driving/racing, there's a HPDE I'll be attending at Grattan (Grand Rapids) on April 12.
