hood
Hey guys...
So i am thinking about painting my hood again... Reasons are:
- chip
- rust
- previous owner smash it into something i guess because the edge above the grill is dented...
My car is silver and there is few things i am considering... (of course repair those chips and rust...)
a) paint my hood to the stock silver color again
b) paint my hood all black
c) leave my hood silver and add black (flat or gloss) in the middle leaving out the right and left side silver... The black would be from the grill up just like a V...
Hope you got an idea...
i will post pictures asap when i found some...

the black hood idea would look cool, but if you do choose to go that route, i think u need to paint more than just the hood black. it would look nice with a painted trunk and rook (black) as well as the hood, someone already has done that and it surprisingly looks good.
yes that's what i was thinking... also painting my trank black and shave it... but than i would have to buy evo 9 rear bumper where i can put my plate =]
anybody have any pictures of hood/roof setup?

Hell, I've been thinking about doing the same thing. My hood needs to be repainted due to rock chips, so I figured I'd paint the center section black or charcoal grey, and use a very thin red pinstripe to divide the gray/black from the silver on the edges of the hood.

after my accident the dealership cant match the silver paint on the hood so im going to tell them ill make a deal and they dont have to match it if they just paint it black. half the hood looks cloudy right now after i wash it and its in the sun
I have a lab black ra... I just had the hood repainted / fixed (the prev-owner put a dent in the front). I gotta say... for it being black it came out damn good. Just a few little light scratches from the sanding in the sun. Black is so hard to do. You have to really really really look for it though. Personally I like the stock look. But that's me. Put me down for a vote for pure silver
. BTW make sure you check your washer nozzles after they do it... they had my galant nozzles all bent and screwed up and it wouldn't let any water out of the passenger side one. Was ruining the hose.

How about painting it so it looks like carbon fiber? I have heard of some people that have done it in the island. First they paint the hood in black, then they put some sort of perforated fabric on which they put the silver color on. If you have no idea what im talking about, there are some carbon fiber-look VG´s on ebay that are painted that way.
instead of shaving the trunk cant you just buy a trunk for an es cause there plate is on the bumber isnt it?
