cold air intake please help
i was wondering how many pieces the rrm cai comes in. i just met with ski10804life tonight to buy his rrm cai and its two pieces, feels heavy, thick piping and no where to put the mas. its red and says rrm on it and has a bracket but i dont know where to put the mas or if im missing a part.
ill try to get pics tomorrow. i have to use my cousins camera. its like two 90 degree angle pipes. its red and has an rrm sticker on it. it could just be a sticker put on it idk. ski10804life has a turbo ra. he said it was on before the turbo but i cant get a hold of him now.
i just want to know whats up because theres no place for the mas and hes not answering his phone or pms. idk but i hope i didnt get screwed because i will be going back down that way.
How much did you pay for it? Its possible since he went turbo it was prolly laying around in his garage for a while, and he gave you the wrong thing, but if hes avoiding you then...............

V1 is two piece. V1 also retains the stock rubber elbow and stock MAF housing. They didn't incorporate the MAF housing in to the CAI until V2. He gave you the entire piece. If you search for old pictures in the show and shine section, you should be able to find a pic of it installed.
ok i got a hold of him. it must be an older one because it uses the stock elbow. so i guess ill try to make something to replace the stock elbow so its all hard piping. maybe use pvc piping and drill holes for the mas. i just thought an aftermarke intake would replace all the "soft piping" with hard piping.
I found a pic for you -

I would leave it as designed. It worked and I don't think you'd see any benefit to rigging up some form of hard piping, especially not out of PVC. Even when RRM came out with a new version, it still retained the soft elbow. Reason for this is that our engine moves violently due to soft mounts. Leaving the elbow helps keep things from breaking.
