dome light

i have a lancer sportback RA. i want to install a dome lamp with moving lights above the rear view mirror. i thought of either splicing the rear dome light wires and connecting them together so the middle light turns on with rear light when the door opens and moving lights i can turn on and off when i need. can this be done and whats the best fuse to use once its connected?

thanks in advance!

You can do anything you want to, with the right combination of switches. Making it look decent would be more difficult than getting it to function the way you describe.

Fuse requirements would depend totally upon your choices for lighting. I've been thinking I might like some brighter bulbs in my dome light, and some added lights in the rear seat area. I was looking at replacement bulbs with super bright LEDs for the dome light, and some 1- or 3-watt LED blocks for lighting up the rear seats.

If you decide to go with incandescent lights, they will draw MUCH more power, and need a larger fuse than comparably bright LEDs would need.
