Clutch Question...
So for the past couple of weeks, ever since I had my bent tie rod replaced by the dealership, my transmission has been acting up.
When ever I do a hard shift revving the engine above 4k into 3rd or 5th gear (only those two) I get a little bit of grinding and resisting going in. I can easily force it, but I HATE doing that to my transmission
I've noticed that if I pause in neutral for as little as 1/2 a second after coming out of 2nd or 4th it shifts fine with no grinding or any kind of problems.
Since its only those two gears that it does it in, (i've done repeated tests over the past two weeks and its always the same) does anyone know whats wrong?
would it be something in the master cylinder or maybe I just need to upgrade to the RRM stage 1 clutch??

For verifying the synchros, the tranny has to be opened, no point to do it just to check. For the cables, somebody posted something about it a while ago, I think it was egk-9, about how the base and the cables kinda went snafu on him
Yeah, I pulled my intake apart tonight and got under the car, the master cylinder and clutch lines look fine, which leads me more to believe its the synchronizer. Which means stealership if I want to get it fixed since I dont have all the tools I'd need for it.
But as you said, there is no point in going just to check it so should I just wait for clutch to die or order a stage 1 clutch and have them replace the synchronizer while they switch em?

Yeah, cuz it's ***** expensive to just check. And Mitsu will try to accuse u of beating the car anyway, even if u didnt.
Also, and Im hating myself for not saying it earlier, could be the clutch master cylinder. Mine started that way and I had to replace it

I just dont wanna have to replace it since its a b**** to get too
It doesnt look bad. When it goes U can see a little residue on top or around. Another way to check is for somebody to pump the clutch, takes time until it actually purges, so gotta be patient
I had a new development tonight, on my way home, I drove with the front windows down, and bottom line I was able to hear a slight hissing sound that came when I engaged the clutch starting from a stop. The car did this both with the engine on and off. It's a slight hiss, I had to have the windows down to hear it, and its leading me to believe that this is the crux of my problem.
Any preliminary ideas as to whats wrong before I have a friend pump the clutch tomorrow and get a look under the hood?
Car seems to be running fine, I did the "coast at 15mph and put it in 5th" test and there is no clutch slippage.

Nail on the head man, Got under the car finally today on my day off, and thats what it was, luckily it was a just one of the hoses was not properly fitted and was allowing air to go in/out.
after bleeding the air out, I put the hose back on and everything seems to be great!
