Window Tint?
Window Tint?
I have a 06 Ralliart. It's charcoal grey with black interior. I am considering getting window tint installed hoping that it might cool down the interior during the summer months. Anyone done this and does it cool down the black interior significantly?
Also, any suggestions on tint levels or styles for my car?

window tinters claim that it does help keep your vehicle cool in the summer where as a/c has to not work as hard to keep the air cool.
they also claim that tinting your windows will improve privacy.
i would suppose a good choice would be a place that warrentys their install and refuses to do illegal work, such as tinting the front windows even though it may be illegal in ur province.
i'll get mine done eventually.

I live in Jersey and i actually do window tints as a side job ill post pics up of my car. I had all five windows done but got stopped by a cop and took the two front ones off. I have 5 % all around and i have to say it does cool the car down. I like the 5 % on the 3 back windows and im thinkin of just putting 35% in the two front ones. If i ever take all my tint off i think i would go with 35% all around. It will still give a nice effect to your car as well as keeping your car cool.

i have the 5% tint in my back 3 and 15% up front. The guy who did it, offered to give me 5% up front as well, since cops dont care very much at all for tint since texas is so hot, its almost considered a necessity and I've never even heard of anyone getting a ticket for it where I live (seriously), but I just wanted to keep it as legal as possible considering the way I drive, on the track that is. lol
when i got mine done i went to Firelane Graphics on Hampton Ave....right by watson/chippawa
They tinted the entire lancer for $203 after tax...that included a lifetime warrenty....after a year and a half the tint still looked great when i sold it....personally i got 15% on the front and 5% on the backs and never had an issue.
on the truck i bought after it i had 20% all around and never had an issue.
This truck is actually legal, but the Stealth won't be when i retint it......if you get pulled over for any reason.....roll down both front windows.....all the time.....i used to roll down all four....cops will notice it and that way it shows you're not hiding anything
tint % is based on your own personal opinions

I cant say for sure or for fact but i can get into my lancer with 5% on back 3 and dont remember front but its SCORCHING hot in there..then i can get into my endeavor with light factory tint and its no where near as hot..maybe the tint..maybe cause its bigger inside i dont know but just my 2 cents.
if your worried about the tint being to dark and the laws around MO try seeing about if you can get your hands on some Hooper Optic window tint... It costs alot more then basic dark film but it keeps your car alot cooler then dark film. The color of the film is clear and doesnt look like you have any film......
i agree with cj98, go with 20% all around, but since thats already illegal, it wouldnt hurt just to do 5% all around
i currently have 20% all around, wouldnt mind go with 5% once i get my evo... someday...
