Changing the Automatic door lock settings

Hey, this is my first post here but I've been reading the threads on these forums since Saturday when I bought my Ralliart. It's been 3 days with the car and I love it, but the only thing that bothers me about it is that every time I turn the car off the doors lock...

It would make sense if the doors locked when I turned the car on, so no one could pull a GTA on me and steal my car, but to have all the doors lock when I and anyone else is getting out of the car doesn't make sense.

Is there some way this can be disabled or reversed? I tried looking in the owners manual and couldn't find a thing, if it is in there and I missed it if someone could give me a page number and I'll be set.

Thanks again guys!

does your car have an aftermarket alarm system?

I have a clifford system in mine, and i know i can change it, but i dont really have any experience with the stock keyless entry if that's what you have

Yeah I've got an aftermarket alarm on it, but I'm not entirely sure the details on it since the previous owner never told me any specifics about it. Bright blue LED flashes underneath the steering column when I lock it.

So this might have something to do with it?

I'll investigate further.

Must be a feature of the aftermarket alarm. The stock power locks do not lock themselves, with the exception of when you hit the button to unlock the door(s), and don't open one in 30 seconds or so. They will go back to being locked in that case.

If you can find the "brain" of the alarm, the brand and model is usually on it, and then you can search online for a user manual.

Alright, thanks! Any idea where the "brain" would be located? In the engine compartment? Or in the interior?

Most alarm installs I've seen had it up under the dash on the driver's side. If it's not immediately apparent, start at the blue LED under the steering column and follow the wire back.

my brain for my alarm is actually in the engine bay under the strut bar back by the master cylinder, the guy who had it before me had it installed there. just so ya know they do install them in places other than the interior if you cant find them

I finally found the "brain" of the alarm system. Turns out it's a KARR 4040A:

I spent 15 minutes on google finding the owners manual for the thing. Found it and fixed the automatic door lock issue.

Thanks everyone for the help!
