+1

I just replaced my timing and balance shaft belts, and the way i figure it, it's always smarter to change your water pump when you do your timing belt. because you have to take all the junk off to do the timing belt, you might as well do the water pump while you're there and save yourself either a days labor or $500 for some mechanic because your water pump died after you changed your belts.

Honestly, when I pulled my old water pump out, (odometer on it was 58300 miles), I still looked like it was in pretty good shape same as the timing belt, but i'd rather be safe than sorry

btw, when you're doing your belt and you line up the number one cylinder to TDC, it was really confusing because the tick marks in the crankshaft sprocket and oil pump sprocket that mark TDC are not NEARLY as easy to discern compared to when I changed the timing belt on my old OZ with the 4g94. Also the oil pump sprocket you want to watch for if you do it yourself, it rotates alot easier than the rest of them!!

Otter,
I was gonna run the OEM fuild, but i wanted to do it myself, and the dealer only sold the OEM fluid in 5 gallon units for like $160

so i just looked up the specs for our tranny oil (IIRC SAE GL-4 75w-85w or 75w-90)
and i ended up putting in mobil one GL-5 75w-90 which works pretty well so far, the OEM fuild was pretty dirty when I drained it.
