I would imagine you would need a resistor in there, not just close the loop. However, I have no idea how much resistance. You could likely figure it out by measuring the resistance in the airbag module on the seat.

just for your information, removing the air bags on your car will void any insurance you have on it if a crash happens.

If a cop finds out about this he has the right to impound the car.

If you tell your insurance company they won't insure you anymore.

If you get in an accident , your car is not insured and if you get hurt or someone else gets hurt in your car badly, I believe the SAAQ won't pay for your medical and other requirements afterwards.

Why don't you look into the new EvoX seats as they have air bags in them like our 06 ralliarts

Unless you find a racing seat with SRS airbag in it...

BTW you can use harness with the harness mounting point on our backseat...

First, to answer your question DO''Z , yes it's true, if you have the srs light on, the airbag won't explode if you get into an accident.

Second, i don't know if I misunderstood what you try to say Otter, did you say he should take the resistance of the airbag ? If yes, it's an very very bad idea... Probably it will be the last post he will do on here, cause if you try to take the resistance of the air bag , the air bag will explode... Because when you put your voltmeter in resistance mode, it throw an little voltage to see the resistance... an little voltage will result in a deployment of the air bag...

The only way to know the resistance of the air bag is to check in the shop manual. It's written in the diagnostic chart. I've done it one time for the steering wheel air bag... but i don't know if it's the same resistance for the seat... I'll have to check this...

Like snakeoil said, assurance is an problem, but if you really want those seat, there's a way to do it safely...

We resolve the problem of the airbag, but i've forgot something.

The passenger seat is equipped with an weight sensor. It detects if someone is seating or not. This sensor work like an switch '' ON/OFF''.

There'S two way to do it.

First, Try to remove the wieght sensor from your oem seat and put it in the new seat. I've an big big doubt it can be done... so check the second option :P

Second, you got two choices, let beleive the computer that there's ALWAYS someone seating on the passenger seat, or there's NEVER somone on the seat.
The problem is, if the cpu thnik there's always someone seating, even if there's nobody, the passenger airbags will explode if you get into an front crash. It changes nothing for you, personally i would take this option. To make this happen, you just need to weld wire of the seat sswitch and the buckle sswitch.
If you don't do that, if you got an passenger, airbag wil not explode cause the cpu won't think there's somoene sitting.

Outch it get a little bit confusing haha.... I understand what I've said but I don't know if it's clear for everyone :P

Some of the Ra's have air bags in the front seats. Mine does but I have talked to other users on here and theirs didnt. I posted a similar thread when I first joined
