Question Gauge Cluster Question

I've seen a couple of gauge clusters for the evo (ya know with the 9000rpm, 160mph layout) on ebay and that ralliart japan site. Would i be able to hook it up to my 04 ralliart? is it even possible? or not, because the evos rpm gauge is where the ralliart arts spedo gauge is?
i'm just curious if its possible

It's a plug-n-play I believe but it'll reset your mileage I think. Search for more details, this is very well covered already.

Its possible, I use a JDM Evo 7 cluster. Everything will work fine, the computer will recognize which one is rpm and which one is speedo. Few icons might be different(at least on the JDM one) but thats about it!

isnt the redline at 7000rpms instead of 6500rpms on the cluster?

aint it also bad if your racing and let the rpms go to 7000rpms?

The redline on the gauge is just a readout. The ECU controls the actual redline of your car (rev limiter).

Also, the mileage listed is built into the gauge cluster. So whatever mileage the car had on it from the cluster you bought, is what your car will now read.

I believe you can send this off to mitsu to have it changed, though I'm not sure of that cause I don't know anybody who has done this.

Can't help you with the mileage issue, I got a gauge cluster that reads KM's and was only off by 1000 in total mileage so I'll always remember what I'm really at

I'm not positive how they work on our engines, but commonly rev limiters will cut ignition and or fuel.

Take your lights from your stock gauge cluster and put it in the Evo. Mine was so dim I couldn't read it so I shoved those big red condomed bulbs from the stock cluster to the evo cluster and wow it lights up real nice with the red numbers on the jdm evo cluster.

Evo cluster isn't brighter than ours at night. Also, the Evo cluster is really hard to read in the daylight with sunglasses on. Dark red letters on a black background aren't easy to see. If you want the stock cluster brighter, switch the bulbs to LEDs.
