was driving home from work today and my car just died. Pulled over and tried to start it up again and would die instantly. After a couple miniutes it would start and idle but when I would press the gas it would sputter and die. A miniute later I was able to get in motion and get moving at about 10 mph. Then all of the sudden everything was working fine and i got about half a mile and there was nothing again. Got the car home in first gear with the gas to the floor and going 5 mph, if I let off of the gas at all from the floor it would die. Anyone have a clue???
ok i just plugged the battery back in and it seems to working fine the cel is gone but i havent driven it yet becuase its cold and i dont want to push it in the cold if it dies. thanks for the help!!
Right, but see, now you reset the code, and you have no idea what went wrong or if it'll happen again.
I have no idea why people recommend it, but you should NEVER reset a CEL until you actually know what it is.

That's pretty much common sense Otter. But, at the same time, U also know that Mitsu vehicles give bogus codes all the time, and most times that damned code u pull is the result and not the cause of the problem. I should know why I say it
Oh, mine does it allllll the time. Mitsu has gone to hell with their new ECUs. I remember that I could run my Mirage without TPS when it broke, without flow meter without stalling, that one could easily trick the ECU into not rev-limiting, to get close to 10 hp by just moving a damn sensor
You dont even know how many times I pulled random misfire, and bank 2 lean codes, EGR flow obstructions, TPS failures, and dont even get me started on the maf... The problem is, I've never replaced none of those sensors or change anything, and it purrs like a kitty still, well like a kitty with bracers cuz I need to adjust my valvetrain, lol

well i replaced the mass and it hasnt done it yet but now sometimes when I push the clutch all the way in when im breaking it drops below 500 rpm and kills the engine and have to pop the clutch to get it running again. Doesnt happen all the time but it happens. No cel.
I dont know if its that simple, when it happens I pull to the side of the road and turn everything off and wait about 5 minutes and it will start up and be running fine again for a short period of time. Its really frustrating
