Rad Problems 05 Ralliart

Back in Aug 2008 I started smelling coolant and I noticed there was a split in my Rad. As of last week same thing. Any Ideas to what is causing this problem. I was thinking it could be a head gasket problem. Any thoughts? Has anyone else had this problem.

I am dissapointed in your post. I thought you were bringing back early 90's lingo by using the word rad.

Does your coolant appear milky or have any oil you can see in it? Those are sure signs of headgasket failure. Also you would be blowing some smoke out of your exhaust.

I checked the oil and everything is normal. The coolent is a normal color too. I am just trying to figure out why I keep going thru RADS. Thought it would keep the 90's idea rolling. Thanks for the tips

I'm tempted to say that it's just bad luck. The only other thing I can think of is if you have a dead fan, or a clog, and you're overheating, causing too much pressure to build up. Not too sure, though.

Hey Bill and Teds excellent adventure was 1989 and Bogus journey was 1991. I was pretty close with the years. But you are right, the movie Rad came out in 1986.
