I have a rear strute bar in my '06 RA and the factory sub I ordered through MitsubishiParts.net (thanks Russell) does not fit with the strut bar in the back right rear of trunk where the sub goes (with S&S)?! Right now I have the sub strapped down w/tie straps (haha kinda ghetto
) but it works! The sub does not move at all, and sounds great where it is. It does not interfere with the trunk closing or anything of that sort.
I was wondering if anyone had/has/has had the same issue, or if anyone had/has a way to resolve this?

wasn't this the reason why rrm was making a strut bar for RA with the sub and some without???
I had a box custom made to fit with the bar with a better sub woofer and proper amp!

im happy with the stock amp and sub, i use to be into the whole bass! thing like two 12's in the trunk but after awhile it just got annoying to me. the stock 8 is enough bass for me!

yea! I love the way the stock sub sounds! everyone was telling me to get a "10 or "12 but I do not listen to rap or hip hop or anyhting of that sort, and I'm not a bass guy so the OEM sub is PERFECT! ...now I just have to replace the 2 front speakers (I think the left one is blown)! everytime I turn my radio past 25, it starts this scratching noise and its kind of annoying!

well, I decided to keep both the strut bar, and the sub. I dont really care too much about performance/ weight bc my RA is my DD. I have the sub strapped down w/2 little strap downs from the bar to the side of the trunk (there's a little hole to put the hook in)
-the good thing is sub doesn't move at all, it works and sounds perfect, and I can close the trunk w/o touching the sub
- the bad: looks ghetto
It will be this way until I can find a sub-friendly rear strut bar.
whatever works right?

There's currently no sub-friendly strut bar being made, unless you can find one used. The guy that was making them (RD Designs) stopped making stuff a couple years ago. The OEM-sub-friendly bar had a lot of bends in it, though, so I never figured it was that effective. IMO, just ditch your strut bar and install a lower tie bar instead.

oh well! I was thinking about getting a better amp and sub, but I like the way the sound is stock!
