Haven't been on the boards for a while. Between my third kid, new job, erratic markets/economy, I've been MIA for a while.

For those of you that remember me. A wholehearted hello! I just picked up an '08 STi aka "ugly black toad." For the record, I'm on iwsti and nasioc now, but I'll never forget my first (evom).

shout out to Otter, Myszkewicz and the OT.

We're going to play hide and seek. Go hide, if I find you, you go back to Mitsubishi.

I've been in both. My heart has always been with the Subaru since it was my first car. I think both are very nice and so close to each other it's hard to call one **** and one not. You'll never get any mitsu to sound quite like a subaru though... In a race I'd put my money on the driver, not the car.

I agree. I'd do a review, but not sure anyone here would be interested. I'm happy with it. Evo X was a consideration, but I liked the price on the STi and the sleeper look to it. The X is definitely a better looking beast.

thanks guys. I've only had it for 2 weekends and I've got evos tailgating me already (twice). First time, I asked my kids to wave to the nice gentleman. Second time, I just smiled. Maybe if I get an evom window sticker, folks will realize I'm a friendly?

I have to say, if I could afford that model STI, I would get it. I've seen one in the show room and I've wanted one ever since. At least they have a true 6 speed.

Nice upgrade. I loved my STI, but ultimately the IX was just way better for me due to my driving preferences/style. Unlike most Subi or prior Subi owners however, I actually hated and was embarrassed by the Boxer engine sound. To me it just sounds like a damn Volkswagon bug and I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone would think that is a good thing.

Props to you though, its a beauty
