Uhmm.... since the bottom half of the engine is supposedly still usable... so far I'm only aware of about $1800?

Btw... can anyone tell me if getting the P/P head before the P/P intake manifold will help with any gains? Or did I screw up the order and it won't help me much w/o the IM

Well since we're doing a complete swap out of the old head for the new it cuts out alot of labor of having to reshape the valves and everything so it saved me a bit of money. But that may not be the case for everyone. Just for the headwork alone which is just swapping out my cam and rockers I believe labor is about $650 so thats why I said so far what I know is roughly $1800... According to RRM the head comes with the valvetrain so I'm going to have to trust them on that.

But now I also need a new timing belt so I'm not sure how much extra that's going to be since I need the pulley and tensioner and whatnot...So roughly I have overall $2500-3000 for this rebuild but I'm not completely sure

Does anyone know if I'm going to need a tune with the head? It won't screw up my AFR will it?

im glad i dident remove that bolt when i put my header and down pipe in haha. i got a OBX header and downpipe magnaflow high flow cat and a tusdo catback exhaust my car runs fine.

i dont think your car will need a tune.

but i would tune it just to see if you got any gains from it.

If its not absolutely necessary to get a tune then I'm not going to. At least not until I get the P/P IM, Piggyback, and Cam. That way only have to be on the dyno once

I'm not sure bout the head alone but you won't need any extra with it i just put on my p/p head and p/p intake with stg2 cam and i love it, it sounds mean and there is noticable power

if you can afford it get the head intake and cam to put on with this rebuild

I don't have money for those 3 at the moment BUT they are planned for the future once I get all the financial stuff out of the way for this rebuild

BTW... don't you need to retune the car once the stg2 cam is installed? I thought it was necessary or else the car would run a little choppy

Can anyone answer my question on whether or not it is absolutely vital to get a tune for my car?

My mods are as follows:
RRM SRI
RRM UDP
RRM Header/DP/HF Cat
Magnaflow Catback

I'm getting the RRM P/P Head for my car now for those who haven't followed this thread and I just really wanted to know...

Do I absolutely need to get a tune or can I just leave it as is with the car? Will I destroy my engine by screwing up my AFR if the car isn't tuned? I'm saying this because I don't have a piggyback for my car and I don't think that reflashing is the way I want to go... So can anyone help answer my question?

be patient... lol, a lot of us are sleeping in.. it's good friday.
I would get a tune. The pulley will do almost nothing if that to it since it doesn't alter the flow of air in to the engine. most people run an SRI without a tune and no problems, so don't worry about that. same with the cat back.
as for the header and down pipe, I think most people run those without a tune anyways.

will you mess up your engine? chances are no, the ecu may go in to limp mode to safe itself. thats all. but if you want to maximize the gains from it, then you should do a tune. if you don't then whats the point of getting those parts? I suggest the piggy back.

cheers
