RRM P/P Intake Manifold

So I'm looking into getting this part for my car but I was discussing this with a friend earlier today and was wondering would getting this part make it absolutely necessary to buy the piggyback as well to keep the car from running too rich?

My friend told me a story of someone he knew that upgraded their IM and that in order to balance out the new amount of air running through that the car had to put in more fuel which led him to getting like 9-15 mpg in the city.

I'm just wondering would getting this mod make me run into a problem like this

Also.. does anyone know if there's still a waiting list on this thing?

I ran a ported IM for awhile before getting the piggyback. The car will be fine, however, you'll only see a small benefit from the mod until you tune the car with the piggyback. I'd get the piggy first.
