rrm timing box instructions

I purchased my rrm timing box over the phone and just received it 3 days ago. Its a simple install but I have yet to install it due to the fact that the instructions I received are for the 08+ lancer. Anyone else who bought this item for a 04-06 ralliart receive these same instructions? I'm thinking I may have been sent a box for the 08+ lancer and don't wanna play fate with my car! I've already made 2 attempts through e-mail to contact rrm, but they haven't responded and I'm itching to get that box installed.

I'm from canada, and I'm trying to avoid the long distance charges... if it comes down to it I guess I might have to call them though.

Hey man i'm in canada too and i also received the wrong instructions. I don't know if they made new instructions for our cars but the box was correct for my car. Not sure if that helps or not but yeah... the instructions are useless that come with it. Just kind of have to know where to look.

Thank You! Thats all i needed to know lol... wrong instructions, kinda lead the buyer to think wrong product... makes it really iffy when installing something thats dealing with timing.

I kinda would like instructions on this too actually since mine didnt even come with any... i know it goes on the MAP sensor but i have no idea how to get it off... theres no little tab or anything to push down on so it comes out... help?

for anyone else that has this.... how did you mount it? i saw kind of a blurry version of zebra4's mounting but anyone else do something different?

Its a easy install, I just used a small flathead screw driver and wedged it under the pin and it popped up nicely. I mounted it with double sided tape to the engine bay right near the sensor and cleanly tied the wires from the box with a tie to some other wires in the general area. Its concealed quite nicely. Believe me you won't need the instructions in the end.

by pin you mean that little metal rod kind of the thinness of a paperclip? did you go on the side? top? this sensor seems like a little pain to get out without damaging it

Ya that little paper clip like thing. I popped mine off from the top, with the tip of the screwdriver facing away from the intake manifold towards the passenger strut; basically running parallel with the strut bar. Should just pop up nicely and you can pull it up with your fingers from there. After its pulled up enough, the sensor will pull off the intake manifold and you can install the box. Careful when your pulling the paper clip like thing off the sensor - it will release like a spring and pop off, so hold on to it because you'll need it later.

I'm a little hesitant to get this mod. Messing with the timing scares me a little and people I've talked to about this don't suggest doing it. I could be wrong but anyone know of any downsides to this? Especially on a car with high mileage, ie. 93k

Yeah those who have it, what are your thoughts on it? I'm thinking of ordering one.
