steering column

hey guys...
a friend of mine has swapped his 06 ralliart steering column out for an evo9 steering column.. along with the accessories that go with it..

my question is.. would the 03 evo 8 steering column work with the 06 ra?

What's the EVO's steering wheel ratio ? What's the biggest advantage of this mod ?

Something compatible with the 06 ra. Right now we have no options for hubs or wheels as it is.

Yes they will work. The only benefit of it is the ability to put on an Evo Steering wheel. since you´re not touching the rack and pinion setup, you won´t be affecting the steering ratio of the car.

Now that we're on the topic, how do we go about getting a higher ratio steering column/wheel? Where would I start? At the steering column? Or is it in the hub/wheel?

As I can see, EVO have a really bad steering ratio. Don't know if it's better or worse then ours but if you saw Tog Gears, lock to lock on the EVO (8-9) isn't impressive.

yea only advantage to swapping the shafts is putting the evo wheel on, looks way better... one of the best things i ever did for my ralliart

Our car's lock to lock is 3 turns and I believe the Evo is only 2.
