I installed RRM Timing Box and now I have a problem...

I installed the RRM Timing box about a week ago. Daily driving is fine. I noticed an increase in power right away. But... when I mash on the gas pedal and race it down the street the high rpm's cause something to burn. I notice a burnt smell. I opened the hood, inspected everything and there are no burnt wires, or any signs of burning for that fact. I'm thinking it's internal. Maybe I have a bad sparkplug or 2? Any suggestions?

Is it consistent like everytime you go WOT you smell the burning smell? Also what octane gas are you running?

Check if your clutch is slipping.

Yea it's very consistent. Every time I mash the gas pedal and keep it pressed for at least 10 sec the burnt smell comes up. I use the premium octane gas, I think it's 91. Could that be the problem? Oh and BTW I don't think my clutch is slipping cause I have an automatic.

Yeah, you probably don't have a slipping clutch then

Disconnect the timing box and see if you're still smelling it. The two might not be related. Also make sure you didn't leave any wires resting against something hot.

also be careful that the wires aren't resting against the serpentine belt, I didn't notice it until i heard the grinding but at least I caught it and moved it all out of the way

hmm, coincidentally, i seen a guy pull over on the freeway today cause there was smoke coming from up from under the hood. As soon as he got out of his car flames started shooting out from underneath the hood. He looked like he didnt know wtf to do now. Definitely didnt expect his car to catch fire lol.

I would of stopped and took pictured but I was going the other direction.
