odd clunking?

ok so sometimes when im starting to accelerate from a stand still i hear this odd CLUNK from the driver side tire area, now ive replaced the axel there befor, and my dad said the clunk could be the cv joint going out, but for some reason im thinking we replaced the whole axle because the cv joint couldnt be purchased sepratly, can anyone verify this? or any ideas what the clunk could be? i thought it was shocks but i noticed it doesnt always happen when i hit a bump.

Inspect all the front end linkage points, including the axle, for play/excessive movement.

mine's actually like that too.. the cover under the car is kind of hanging there and i can't really push it to clip back.

i had a clunk coming from that area of my car... it was my control arm. i think the bushings in there are basically pretty ****ty, and wore down to the point where it would clunk together evertime i hit a bump of any size. but could be something different. that was just my problem. new control arm and no more clunk.
