i have the same headlights you are trying to buy from ebay. They do look rather nice but as everyone said the cutoff isn't too great. i was able to able it just right so in front of me i have a somewhat straight cutoff line, but the passenger headlight, when i see it against the wall, there is not so much of a line. No one one these forums seemed to have figured out why the cut off is so bad. I think the projectors it comes with is fine, there must be another reason why the output is bad. I sometimes think it might be the clear plastic lense the light has to shine through, but that's probably not it. I wish i could take apart my headlight and figure out why its not everything we want it to be, but I'm simply not very good at DIY stuff.

Depo did come out with these new projectors for the 04-06 Lancers, with the weird *** 3 line strip at the top of the headlight, but i think the output is better than the original projectors. I hope my post has helped you in some way!

Has anyone tried to go to evodave, or the other headlight modifier-type guys?

That looks nice, lancer-02-es! nice job!

Raikiri, taking apart the lights is easy. After that you'd just need to line things up correctly and ensure any mounting you do will stand up to the vibrations of driving.

There is a picture of my cutoffs. Take in mind that my right headlight is not aimed right cause one of the clips that holds it in is broken but, still the cutoff isnt all that bad. I compared it to my bros car that hads HIDS stock and the cutoffs like almost the same. Hope this helps.

The RRM ones are identical to the eBay ones. They're all made by Depo.

Looking at thunderoz's cutoffs, they look the same as mine, minus the fact that my right headlight isn't aimed right, but all the cutoffs i have seen have the rainbow color where they cutoff, mine used to untill i replaced them with 4300k. as for the slant up on the right, my bro's do the same thing and like i said his are OEM, Hella ballasts and bulbs so i dont see the huge issue with the cutoffs. They way i see it even if they arent 100% perfect, its a lot better then putting them in stock housings and blinding every1, plus they are 10 times brighter then the stock bulbs that come with the housings. Idk thats just my opinion, but im no expert.

anyone ever buy the depo headlights and try to swap the projectors out for better ones, like tsx projectors?

i don't think anyone on the forums has done that. I've been on this site for like 4 years and I never came across retro fitting tsx projectors into the depo headlights, although i don't think it's a bad idea.

as for the cut off, mine looks exactly the same. my left head light creates this really nice straight line cut off, but my right headlight aims at an angle has no smooth line. I've already aimed them, but its not about that. aiming is just adjusting it higher or lower, has nothing to do with the cut off

I see... i was considering opening up the headlight and rotating the projector in order to make it flat but i woudln't be able to figure it out without taking out everything and putting it back to test which would be annoying to check and see if it did any progress

true, i'd say just go with tsx projectors if you're going to have it all apart anyways... suzuki grand vitara or XL-7 projectors are decent, you just have to replace the stock bulb which is an h4...
