yeah would even want to get near is having it snap. i like to keep my valves and head in good condition since i got the RRM head in my car =P.... dont need another accident like last time

least i think it was the belt. all the sudden heard a backfire and motor killed. it will crank but wont turn on. have to have it towed today

well popped the timing belt cover off, belt pretty much shredded.

That's not good to hear bro. You need to do compression check to make sure you didn't bent any valves. If you do, might as well get a built head and do the timing all together.

hey anyone happen to have a pick of the tdc mark on the cam gear? that evo how to guide looks like those may be after market or its completely diff on the evo theres 3 marks we see one small paint dot along the top edge, one paint dot on the middle inside of the pulley and then a blue one that my friend says is for aligning the gear with the cam

The one on the edge is the TDC mark.

ok got everything lined up but motor wont start. the thing just cranks like it did when my belt snapped. whats going on any tips?

I replied to your PM but I'll put it here, too. You need to do a compression test and my best guess is that it's going to come back bad. In all likelyhood you're going to need a rebuilt head. A timing belt snapping while the engine is running = pistons slamming into valves and ruining/breaking them.
