Hey guys, lookin to do my timing belt in the next week or so, was wondering if anyone had a link to a how to guide or knew the torque specs for the tensioner an bolts. Tried searching but I'm using my phone an it's not to friendly

Dude to be honest. This is not the first timer job to be messing with. If you time it wrong or if your belt slips, there goes your valves and a 1500 to 2500 dollar bill is coming. Spend the 600 too 800 and get it guaranteed.

 

Hey Buddy, it's doable buy you will need to get all the tools ready before tackling it. Your best friend is TIME. Take your time to do it and do it right. Here is the link that I use. I read it a few times (3). Print it out and have it with me while doing it. GL I can probably take some pic of the tools I bought to help you find it. Let me know if there is anything I can help.

Like the instruction says, 2 people would be best but I did it myself but had my wife give me a hand when it comes to adjusting the timing belt and camshaft to TDC.

 

Thanks guys. My dad and uncle will be doing the work and I'm there to follow along and learn they've done a few belts I just needed the stuff you guys supplied me so they can have refrances! Thanks so much!

 

- Isn't the link for that timing belt for an evo and not a ralliart? Or is there no difference between the belts? Just wondering Because I have an 04 Ralliart that i need to change the timing belt on.

 

The only difference between changing on the belt on an Evo and Ralliart is that with the Ralliart you only have to worry about 1 cam.

Honestly, the timing belt isn't a hard job, just PAY ATTENTION to what you're doing. People who have issues, or end up with damage, are those who weren't being meticulous and double checking their work.

holy crap dude lol i'd say you're lucky that your belt isnt missing teeth by now or hasnt snapped or whatever else can happen

 

yea im doing the belt on the 14th i have to wait till my uncle is available to do the work. wanna know crazy, my moms eclipse lasted 160k befor it snapped lol.
