Transmission Oil

What do you guys think about a pennzoil 75w-90 synthetic GL-4. Would that be alright in my transmission? Dealership said it would be fine but i thought i would ask the real professionals.

Don't use royal purple tranny oil. I thought it was good until I tried redline lightweight shockproof. The royal purple resulted in notchy shifts. Wasn't for me. I haven't used pennzoil but I tend to stay away from it as a motor oil. Try it out and report back

I would recommend 0W-30 for those CAD drivers I use and it starts way easier in the winter. In cold weather starting I notice a 28 psi drop in oil pressure compared to Mobil 1. After that I will never go back to Mobil 1.

Well I only used redline and royal purple in my ralliart, but I used redline, royal purple, amsoil, and factory mitsubishi in my evo viii. Honestly, I think nothing beat the factory stuff. Smoothest shifts, great feel, all around good stuff. The amsoil was good too, but I don't like not having easy access to oil. I don't like to mix oil, so if I run low and don't have any I'm kinda burnt.

The redline was good stuff. It's very very durable. Shep, english racing and others use it in their drag car evos (1000+ whp). It's not super smooth, but it doesn't break down and doesn't ruin your parts. All in all I say Mitsubishi > Amsoil > Redline > ... > Royal Purple. (put whatever you want in between redline and royal purple

I've never heard anything good about Royal Purple. I don't recommend the stuff.

I've tried Redline and AMSoil. Currently have Redline and use OEM for TC and rear diff.
