How many RA owners have a tactrix 2.0 cable?

Been working on my software for about a month now. I'm just curious as to how many RA owners already have a tactrix 2.0 cable? Rather than shipping ECUs all over North America I'm thinking of just licensing software that will allow someone to tune their car with s J2534 device. Tactrix comes to mind. Just toying with ideas at this point. Effectively this could allow both NA and turbo guys to tune or have their car tuned wherever they wanted.

Hmmm. Interesting, but the licensing scheme I'm looking at licenses the tactrix unit itself to an ECU. More than one ECU could in theory be licensed to a cable though. Never really thougth about a place that rents out tactrix cables. Again, I'm just toying with ideas here.

The software is designed for people who understand how to tune and people who understand the basics of engine management. I'm not sure yet how I might produce or license these things. For example, a company like Diablosport or Cobb will license a piece of hardware for $400-$500 that allows you to install a canned map. Then they offer software for custom tunes or software for a professional tuner that allows the map(s) to be edited.

So, for those who don't know how to tune it could be as easy as plugging in the tactrix and hitting "go".

Just to be clear, I'm just toying with ideas here. There is no product sitting on the shelf. I may go in a different direction. I don't know yet.

So, i know that this is a old olllldd thread, but i was looking at getting a tactrix open port 2.0 for my 04 RA. I'm neck deep in a custom turbo build right now, and am looking for some way to get a basic tune after i finish. (NorCal is too far from you Micheal to leave driving there a viable option)

I have found a few of them on ebay, but i'm confused about the licensing now that i read this thread. Are the licenses specific to ECU once it's been used or can you use the same cable on multiple vehicles?

I also have a bluetooth obd2 plug, i beleive its ELM27 or something like that, but i wondered if there was anyway i could use that to connect to my laptop through bluetooth? haha, i know its a little rigged, but hey if it works
