a true gas filled 3000k bulb will likely produce the most light output next to 4300k. hardly a waste. It will enhance your ability to see. I have them as my Low beams and they work wonders.
When you talk about a waste is someone who uses 10000k or higher for low beams. pure waste. especially when your in rain or in true fog.

Don't do it unless you plan on doing a retrofit because our housings shoot light all over the place. Your just going to blind people. * Maybe not so much in the fog lights but in the headlights.

It's not about just blinding people but the light output is all over the place. Have a look at a vehicle with stock hid and you will know what I mean.

i have 6000k HIDS for headlights, and then regular bulbs for fogs but i put a yellow tint film over the lense and i love the hid with yellow fog look. but the difference is i spent 10$. and i like how with the regular bulbs they dont overpower the hids and they arent stupid bright like a civic its clean looking. But thatss your call:]
