Sticky temp knob?

I read in another thread that someone else was getting this issue. My temp control knob is almost impossible to turn. Has a solution to it been found?

There's a solution but it's a pain in the *** (which is why I haven't fixed mine.) You have to completely remove the dash, remove the air plenum, take it apart, and replace the blend door.

Supposedly, the problem can be made less so just by replacing the gears, which can be done from the driver's footwell. I'll probably try that sometime before next winter.

I just deal with it, like otter said it seems to be a hard fix.

I *think* the gears are PN# 7801A110.
