2004 Lancer Ralliart Power Loss

Hello folks. I have a stock 2004 Lancer Ralliart. Interesting happened to me. I was driving down the freeway when all of a sudden I lost all rpms and it was as if I wasnt even pressing on the gas pedal. I stopped on the side of the road and when I pushed the gas it revved up VERY slow. I shut off my car and let it sit for about 5 minutes and it was back to normal but the engine light came on. It drove normal until about 15 minutes later the same thing happened. I stopped and shut off my car and waited another 5 minutes and it started up again with no problem and it was normal. This has occurred more than once. Anyone got any ideas? Im thinking its the O2 sensor. Thanks..

My car did the same thing. When you press on the gas there is no response an when you go up front an pull on the cable it is VERY sluggish. Then i would have to shut off the car an restart it. Then it would be fine for a little while an come back again.

I think its the throttle position sensor.(pedal position sensor?)
Its the part that has the wiring harness plugged into where the throttle cable wraps in the engine bay.

When i replaced mine the problem disappeared.

i know A LOT of people have had this similar issue (including myself). After I had my code checked and reset, it ran fine. And i haven't had a problem with it ever since. and this all happened over a year ago. I keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again, its very scary when it does.
