Based off of what is stated, the idle should be the same as the lobes appear to be near stock. I would guess the sounding would be a little different once in MIVEC. If you are looking for performance, this will definitely give you performance. Sound, well, maybe a bigger muffler

Agreed , the idle is like oem, it's when you put the throttle that it opens the lobes for longer duration which makes more power.

Do it at the same time you do your timing belt and it's well worth it

Agreed. If you are going to go through the trouble of replacing the cam, you might as well take care of the business needed on other pieces that involve removing all that stuff anyone.

Changing the cam isn't essentially hard, but it's time consuming. I've never changed a cam in my Mitsu, but I have built engines (my VW engine in my sig) and I've learned over the rebuilding process that you just have to have patience and commitment to the job.

good luck

. . .and yes, a cam is a terrific upgrade, probably won't gain huge amounts of H.P., but will modify the powerband. It increases lift and duration more than increasing H.P.

When you question buying clothes/food or mods for the car lol j/k ....

I mean you could do it now but still not get the full potential that is available with advancing the timing. You need to see what you want for long term , turbo , motor, nitrous or what have you . From a full motor build I'd say after you have a p&p intake manifold , intake,p&p head, cam, pistons, upgraded clutch , flywheel , an LSD would reall prove that your comitted, solid motor mounts, 150 direct port nitrous lol that's just my plans anyway....
