ROAD/RACE- Ralliart Lancer News

We picked up a Ralliart today from Mitsubishi. We have started development of a comprehensive line of performance stuff for the car. My driving impressions of the car were really good. This is what the OZ should have been. Nice power for what it is better roadholding than the OZ and of course better brakes. Is their room for improvement? Yes but this is a better platform for most performance mods. We have the car for one day. We tore into motor, suspension, and a little bit of interior. Their are significant differences and t he biggest is that it is an OBDIII car. OUCH! We will need to di deeper into this car for sure. Good news is that we have figured out a lot of stuff to make for it. It can easily and cheaply be a 180h.p. N/A car. Expect a new web page full of products within weeks from us.

I guess OBD-3 should be the sucessor to OBD-2. I think it stands for "on-board diagnostics." It's the standard interface for scanning trouble codes and engine diagnostic information from modern vehicles' ECUs.

Hmmm interesting...thanx iodine

so why the "OUCH" right after? B/c they will have to upgrade their OBD-2 in order to scan the ECU?

That's my guess. A new technology means a new scanner, and maybe new programming methods? Maybe it's harder to hack? I don't know any details of OBD-3 (or OBD-2 for that matter), but I'm sure some google searching could remedy that.

I think the industry has been pretty good about OBD-2 compliance for years now (since '96 or so?). Though I think you may need different adapters for different makes of cars. GM and Ford like to be different from everyone else.

Made our own CAi and other goodies this week. OZ stuff is mostly not going to work on this car. We will have a list of products by the end of the week.

well i just got back from driving road race's ralliart, hehhe wow is all i can say.

Damn that this is faster than my turbo (though my turbo is automatic and the ralliart was a 5 speed).

That CAI is godly. The sound is unbelivable.

The handling is noticably increased especially with what roadrace tweaked.

Great car, ugly face but man can that thing go.

RRM you done did it again.

yes obdiii is a ***** due to many things being controlled differently. ECU fuel maps, fuel mas sensor and all sorts of fuel lines have to be hidden and such.

Many changes from obd2 and past lancer knowledge. I am sure RRM will figure it out.
