Reverse?

has anyone else experienced this? sometimes when i am letting out my clutch in reverse ill hear a noise like something is chattering or almost the sound of like a broken axel shaft but its not broke lol i think it may be just that the rpms drop and the engine is trying to stall but im not 100% sure.

if you're not giving enough gas or if you're not on a hill, the engine will stutter just as if you were to stall in any other gear.

I'm almost tempted to say that's normal when you're not doing it right. haha.

Sometimes if you're too light on the gas and let the clutch out quickly you'll feel that clutches 'friction point' grab, the engine's going to chatter, the steering wheels going to jump and your cockpit will vibrate. As long as you don't stall out you're golden.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but my '05 Ralliart used to sometimes make a noise in reverse similar to what you described. Usually I could tell when it was going to make the noise because it didn't seem to go in reverse "cleanly" (only felt like the shifter went 75% of the way in) and as soon as you let out the clutch it sounded like hell was breaking loose.

If I ever feel like it didn't go into reverse properly I will put the car back into neutral, fully release the clutch pedal, then press it back in and try again. This has worked 100% of the time and I haven't heard the noise since.

Hope that helps.
