HID without projectors
what do you think? You guys think I'd be an ******* for driving around with really bright lights or would it be ok to just grab an 80 dollar set of lights and ballasts and plug them in?

You should just do it right. I can't stand when somebody behind me had HID's in a non-projector housing. It makes me want to stop traffic, ask you to roll the window down, punch you in the nose and then walk away. Just my .02.

For one it looks ****ing retarded, and two it's bright as ****. Projectors look so clean, and you won't be blinding anyone. Nothing amuses and frustrates me more than seeing and driving in front of or passing the opposite way of a car with bright-*** "ultra" blue, white, or purple hids without projectors. I just can't stand it.

I was driving through the fog on the highway awhile ago, some ford ruck with hid fogs and headlights had light scatter absolutely everywhere, the ground of course, but also straight left, straight right, straight up in to the sky.. any possible direction, could see like a dozen other beams and haze in infinite directions, I could tell the main beam that you can see at any time was aimed lower to the ground, and that he also probably couldn't see a damned thing, you just can't aim the scatter. Certain bulbs are designed for certain housings with certain beam patterns, and HIDS (either d*s or d*r bulbs) are nowhere near designed to go in to regular halogen housings like our stockers.
HID's in regular halogen housings also just look cheap.. unless you want that 96 civic hatch deep blue tuner obvious xenon kit look.. Upgrade to a projector and drop in like a philips or mastush.i.ta oem hid system and it will look schmexy,
Lighting is just as important for you as it is for other drivers.

I'm also interested in this thread, looking to do the same thing this Spring. I want to do it the right way with projectors. So HIDs will work just fine with projectors like the ones with the angel eyes?
But this would serve a decent purpose bc of the limited vision the eyelids give, and you also wouldn't be blinding people.
i hvae 6000 k hids in the stock headlight, i bought eye lids JUST for looks. and the light still goes a little high, it really doesnt seem like a big deal, i mean i like it because i can see EVERYTHING lol. go big or go home
