SRS light came on! help...

Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me troubleshoot an SRS light with out spending $117 at the stealer ship. Are they any short cuts or would I have to get an SRS reader? or go to the stealership? Please help as I dont know much about our SRS system. Thanks in advance for any help anyone may have.

only way is to pull the code. honestly if its 100+ at a dealer you can just buy a code reader and pull it yourself

are not CODE readers and SRS reader two different readers thus are there not two different spots to read the codes in the ralliart. One for SRS and the other for CEL. Please correct me if I am wrong.

yeah pretty sure that the SRS would need an SRS reader but without that not really much to trouble shoot. maybe try a disconnect of the battery for a little bit and see if that resets anything or if it just comes back on. Maybe an Airbag not signaling properly. Kinda hard to say without the reader though.
Have you taken seats out recently or anything?

No I havent done any tranny work lately. How is the tranny connect to the srs system? or how could it effect that system? I can't see how those two are related.

On my evo when I had my condensor changed, the mechanic unplugged one of the yellow srs connectors without disconnecting the battery first and that triggered the light. When the light is on there is nothing you can do to remove it without using an SRS scanner.

If is simple simple like an SRS plug that got undone without first removing the battery it can just be reset but it could be alot of other things as well like seat belts, sensors, airbags.
