Painting Stock Wheels

Has anyone done it? I have 2 sets of stock wheels....one for summer and one for winter and was gonna paint my summer ones. Just wondering if anyone's done it and what the outcome was.

Many many people have done it. Just look in the show and shine. It's just stock wheels, tape off the tires and spray bomb away. If you're not lazy then sand and clean it first

If you have any gouges or big scrapes I suggest you can fill them with JB Weld, file and sand. Works wonders.

I recommend powder coating but if you can't afford $85/wheel, spray it until your heart is content!

Right now it's gold with a black hood

but in a couple months I get my yearly bonus and was thinking of going all black or electric blue. Thinking of doing the wheels gold.

I used duplicolor wheel coat to paint my stockers for some winter styling, and then used some random red paint I'd had in the garage to paint the mitsu symbols on the center caps (PITA to tape off haha). Then gave it all a couple shots of duplicolor wheel clear. I'd used bondo plastic steel the last time I'd fixed/coated a set of rims, was too lazy to do that this time around ha. Winter rims get bugged up anyways ha.

if you wanted a pic, both are cell phone master quality..

Did mine also, not hard

There is a very nice how to in the EVO section, but basically, sand, 4 coats of primer then 4 coats of paint, one clear coat, hasn't chipped in 2 years

I did the same as above, and will never do again. I sanded, primed, sprayed, clear coated and everything - took forever as well. They looked really good (gun metal) until they started chipping and ****. IMO, spend the extra money and get them powder coated.

I spray painted my wheels bronze. I also used duplicolor sheel paint. It was such a b**** to do at first because I didnt know anything. Now I feel like I can do it really easily with like 2 spray cans. I want to redo my wheels in black, but i simply dont have the space or time to do it..
