i heard that running the car harder during break in is better...didt you drive the hell out of it when you test drove it?...if it wasn't supposed to be broken in like that ...then the dealer woldnt let you do it...it doesnt harm the car...the motor is already broken in when you get it...they do test it b4 it leaves the factory
^ thats what i heard too.. when it comes to the 'breaking in' myths, i really dont know what side to choose. as for the evo, you definitely HAVE to baby that during the break-in period due to the turbo.. but as for us NA cars, i think its better if you gun it during the break-in so that the engine gets used to the higher powerband at first. the only thing you gotta worry about when you gun your car when you first get it is snapping your timing belt. it only happens once in a blue moon, but its still possible. if you baby it, you're ok.. if you gun it, you're still ok.. i say you baby it for the first 1000 miles, but should gun it every now and then so your engine doesnt get used to a low powerband during that 1000 mile break-in.
I already have almost 1700 on my RalliArt and have only had it since *thinks* mid November. I figure since It's a brand new car and I'm showing it off and driving it everywhere I'll easily put 20-30k on my car this year.
And about the whole "breaking in" thing. My car felt slow until I broke a little over 1000 miles. After 1k of miles was when I really started noticing the MIVEC and that's when the car really put my thumbs up

It kinda works like a black box on a plane. So if you have an accident they can take that info and check if you lied in your statement to the police. That's one of the problem, but the major issue in court right now is the big question: Who owns that information? Do the authorities have the right to take that info without your consent? After all you own the car (If you bought it).
If you rent your car, those the info belong to the dealership?
Anyway don't expect a fast decision, it will probably take years before we hear the end of it.
