Finally got rid of old dash trim
The stock "carbon fiber" dash trim gets really dirty and gunky and it just looked plain ugly when the interior was cleaned. Now it looks slick and clean

It's not that hard to do, once you get it out, sand it to remove the ugly paint, IIRC I used 600 grit when I wet sanded it and after its all cleaned and air dried, spray paint it with your favorite spray paint. I used Duplicolor flat black car interior paint.

You dont need to actually sand it. You just need time and patience to rub off all the carbon fiber layer and it will look like the pics i posted

I know I'm commenting on an old thread, but I just plasti-dipped over mine with the cf coating still intact. It sill peels off the faux cf coating too if I get sick of the plasti-dip, quite easily. I got a matte red leather look when I only held the nozzle down half-way on the final two coats (I did not like the shinier smooth red that it looked like before this step). The silver part was painted using a ford color, sage green and a whole lotta clear coat.
