First Time Modding

Hello everyone! Im a new owner of a 2004 Lancer Ralliart Auto Transmission and Ive been studying these forums for a bit before joining. Seems like everything I google directs me here! lol Anyway Ive been thinging about doing a few mods to my car. Everything is still stock except for the borla catback. And I was hoping you all could give me some advice on the mods im planning to do. Or advise me if it would just be a waste of money.

So here is what Ive been planning to do:
RRM Piggy Back (or another suitable cheaper one if you think it'd serve the same)
Halo Headlamps
Header
Iridium Sparks Plugs
Eclipse GT Throttle Body
And I would like to replicated THIS MOD. (obviously i found it here )

I have a few other aesthetic mods im going to do as well but Im more concerned with the performance ones at the moment. So are these a good set of starting mods? If not what should I do differently. And if so how should I build on these? Im not looking to add a supercharger yet... But hopefully I will some day.

Thanks for any help/advice in advance!!!

IMO, waste of money. Stay stock and keep up with the maintenance.

Search around the site some more, there's many threads like this one, I even saw one pop up just recently.

If I could do it all over again, I'd save, save and save some more. I would have left it stock for awhile then turboed, I still plan on going turbo down the road, but I could have done it much sooner.

But see I have an auto, and a turbo would be little more than an expensive under the hood ornament for me. Now a supercharger is a different story but from what Ive studied no one has a succeful one out right now. The ECUs dont respond to the changes well and no one has a good reflash. I'd like to do something in the mean time. And wouldnt headers, a bigger throttle body, and performance spark plugs be required once I get a supercharger anyway?

Hackish is working on the supercharger and a reflash. I believe ti should be done fairly soon. If your looking for a car thats fun to drive but don't expect crazy HP, all the bolt ons from RRM are great. I love my RA with just the bolt ons that I have and deffinately keeps me entertained until, if, I ever go turbo. On your list of mods, I would get the reflash from hackish instead of the piggy.

You can mod you car on a budget if you know where to look. You can get used or discount parts here on evom, ebay and other forums and sites. Just be careful ebay. Also be smart when buying, for example most parts on RRM are overpriced and you can get the cheaper if you wait and look. You may want to get the UDP and some suspension mods from them but apart from that only their electronics would be a good buy.

Just mod for your enjoyment, its not like the RA can be an HP monster

Awesome that'd be great! And I'll save my $450 and wait for hackish to make that reflash!

Yea Ive noticed RRM is a bit overpriced as well. But you would recommend their suspension mods? I may have to look into that. Thanks!

And Im not expecting it to become a HP monster. Im just hoping to get the most out of whatever I do end up doing to it!

Well you could get the rear strut bar, tie bar and sway bar from RRM. If you want springs look around.

As far as exhaust mods just go custom, its cheaper and you will get exactly what you want.

Get the UDP and maybe the SS clutch line but the rest is overkill unless you got deep pockets and don't want to search around

Got it!

Is the SS Clutch Line still effective on an Automatic Tranny?

LOL ok. I was a little confused! ^_^

Ok so my list looks a bit more impressive now:

Halo Headlamps
Header
Some kind of Performance Sparks Plugs
Eclipse GT Throttle Body
SRI Mod
Rear Strut
Tie Bar
Sway Bar
UDP

Anything else you all think would be good for the first round of mods?

hahaha....man, you hate your RA, don't ya parrish!?

As for mods, i think halos are good....i have them myself. Also, I'd go check the prices if you haven't already....it's not like modding a civic so your list is already getting a little pricey...
