How many miles were on your RA when you traded it in? What all was breaking/about to break?

it was at 171,000km....i put about 15,000 on it in the last 7 months.

The clutch was going to need replacing soon. It's slipped a couple times lately...

there's a knock coming from the right rear strut...

it's keyed on one side and if i kept it I would wanna put the body kit on it which would be a few grand with paint.

I have a check engine light with a p0420 code that I would need to get the exhaust fixed to remove....

the speaker's blown on the driver's side so i need to replace that cause it crackles...

there's rust starting to form under the hood and there's rust under the driver's floor mat which I hadn't seen when I bought it....and i'm sure there's stuff i'm forgetting...

I miss it already....and i don't pick the civic up till after work today. I'll also be selling the weighted shift knob....but i'll make a thread for that stuff later....

I stalled the car twice on the test drive the clutch is like air...so much different than mine...and it's a 6 speed...

Wow, that is a lot of money/time in repairs. Good thing you got out of that (hopefully positive), and into your new ride.

I have to say, the SI is so smooth. My suspension was **** and I had a straight pipe on my exhaust so it was a much more visceral driving experience. I'm actually surprised that in the SI, I can easily use 5th and 6th in the city. I miss my RA already in some ways though...

Had a couple things left over...made my thread here...

the things you described don't seem like the car was falling apart, rust is not really a problem until it's excruciating to look at, or poses a danger to your safety, and the rest, are things that should be replaced at that point in the car's life anyway. and it wouldn't be that expensive to repair. For myself, i wouldn't trust a dealership to repair the car as needed, and then sell it at a fair price. I would hate for someone who loves it, to inherit my car and have a bad experience with it...

again i like your new car though, friend of mine has one...they are great...
