Since the Evolution isn't available in Canada yet the best I can hope for is a turbo ralliart. The reason is supposedly because it the Evo doesn't meet the crash test standards for our country. Hopefully the next generation of Evo will come to Canada.

Until then, I await someone to tell me where I can buy a turbo for the ralliart (if its available yet for everyone), and for how much.

I've already had a look at the Turbo forum posts. And yes, thats exactly where I got the picture.

I was just wondering where this person got their turbo from, and if it's available publicly, or was his turbo privately created.

Just trying to find out how soon turbo's will be commercially available.

Ya, I should send him an email, but its likely that its a custom job. I would feel much more comfortable with a ralliart approved turbo before messing around with that type of thing.

well...it only gets apprived when people have approved it...be a leader...if your already willing to incest then go for it...be the first...then people remember you....be second...and its already been done and your not special anymore....

 

I can see your point, but since I'm leasing the vehicle, I don't want to take any chances of voiding the warranty, and I'm not rich enough to replace an entire engine.

In any other situation perhaps... but not this time.

 

The reason they wouldnt let Lancer Evolutions to come to Canada because the Evolutions did not pass the Canadian Safety Regulations. I am not 100% sure what did they fail but my best guess is the crash testing.

 

Americans have forgotten that in PR Mitsu Mirages and possibly Lancers are more popular than here stateside. I'm not surprised that PR led again in the forefront on technology. They are pushing bigger TC than most Americans dream of on their lancers.

You should know though that any turbo is going to void your warranty. Unless Mitsu releases a turbo for the car (not likely) they are not going to cover the problems created by using a turbo on an engine not specifically designed for turbo.

 

Not always, it all depends on the stages of the Kit. Please do not mislead people. Not like Nitrous system, Turbo merely forcing condensed oxygen (boost) into the intake manifold to create more burning on the engine. I have spoken and consulted with some high people at Mitsubishi dealerships around GTA and Edmonton, as long as the Fuel and ignition system are untouched, warranty is still attached.

 

i am seriously doubting that our warrenty will not be void if we turbo our cars. john from mitsu told me he'd be able to throw on the turbo but it would def void my warrenty.

 

throwing in a turbo into the ralliart is definitely a void on your warranty. unless RRM and mitsu makes an agreement about it or else you have to risk everything for it. time will tell... time will tell~

 

You certainly need to check with your local Mitsubishi dealer or call the Mitsubishi customer relation to explain to them the 'detail' regarding the kit and your plan to upgrade. However, it is not true that "unless RRM...makes an agreement about it" since RRM is just any other performance shop out there, not different with UR, Vivid, EssentialSpeed, etc.

Some dealership very good and lean on engine modifications, southside Mitsubishi in Edmonton is one of the main example, they urge essentialspeed to order from them the stage-2i right away for their showroom ralliart. After talking to Immi from the dealership, they are planning to offer customer to take the turbo package on the ralliart which can be adjusted into their leasing/financing agreement. So again, it is certainly depends on your local Mitsubishi dealership to decide locally.

However, when you inquire with Mitsubishi Canada and/or even just to read the owner manual, it is explicitly said that the warranty will only be void if we replace the ignition and fuel system, otherwise Mitsubishi are very supportive in doing amazing performance project for their cars and that is knowable around the globe.
