CG-Lock

I've been using this for a little while so time to report. A CG-Lock is an American inventor's mechanism that attaches to your seat belt and allows you to snug yourself in so tight it's almost equivalent to a racing harness. Totally street legal. It is very well made - no junk here! Here is the website: http://www.cg-lock.com/index.html

It works as advertised. At the track last weekend I experienced no lateral hip movement on the road course. You do stay in one spot in your seat - no sliding bum, no floppy leg movement, no body twisting sideways. And it doesn't hurt ever. I use it on the road too. More effective than high seat bolsters.

For you Canadians fearful of customs destroying your purchase I got it from http://www.rallysport.ca/ in Calgary, Alberta. Phoned Shawn, it was sent it out immediately. Good price too.

It was easy to install and figure out how to use and adjust, once I played with it for a few minutes. Also, to make the seat belt function normally again, the top clip simply slides off allowing you to disable the tensioning.

CG-Lock showing 2 attaching screws. The sliding top clip is off so seat belt works normally:

The part of the seatbelt strap that goes to your shoulder gets placed over the corrugated roller:

Slide the top clip into place over the seat belt strap:

Attach the seatbelt normally, then push your bum hard into the back of the seat, and pull up on the shoulder part of the seatbelt strap to snug yourself in:

Thank you for sharing, it looks useful. How fast can you unhook the seatbelt in case of an emergency?

Same as normal - push in the red button and undo it, no delay, no difficulty.

Whoops - I was in the car taking pictures real quickly and in the fourth pic I installed the top clip (with the writing on it) the wrong way around. See the black arrow inside the yellow dot? The arrow should be pointing toward the other side where the release lever is. Just wanted to correct this in case somebody uses the pics to help with their first time putting it together. The third pic down shows the correct installation.
